Over the last seven years I have gotten to know him pretty well, yet I still don't get why in the world he would ever wear that jacket. He stopped wearing it after we got married, but every time we moved he passionately insisted that he must keep it.
A couple of weeks ago Zach finally agreed to let go of this "epic" (his word) jacket. It was kind of sad for both of us. Yet I'm not exactly sure why.

Why not just let him keep it?!?
He never wore it. I only suggest getting rid of it and he agreed this time.
if you haven't worn something in the past YEAR (as in one year) i think it's time to go (unless you are pregnant or whatever).
that jacket looks dang sweet though ;) hahahaha
I am kind of with Nastia on this one. It's kind of like keeping a sweet baby outfit for your child. But, at least he has a picture to capture the memory.
I'm just not sure how many "sweet baby outfits" we are supposed to keep. Soon the clutter will be out of control. What's the point of being sentimental over stuff like that?
i think the picture and your blog post keep enough of the memory and sentiment :)
OH MY GOSH! I remember that coat! Oh, the memories. I do have to say that I've heard many a folk comment on the wonders Ksenia has done to change Zach's style for the better. But of course we still loved Zach, track clothes and all ;)
1 year is a great goal! Our closet is by far the most cluttery room in our house. I hate it. Greg is pretty sentimental with his old clothes (still has clothes from HS he never wears) and I am always too scared to throw mine away in fear that I can do something cool with them or they will come back in style (hence the comment I left on Court's blog this morning, hehe). But overall clutter is bad for my chi and I am motivated to organize my closet!
Clothing exchanges are awesome. I'm pretty lucky to have sister inlaws/friends with such great style :)
PS. Since I read your post about comments I have been trying to make a point to comment on the blogs I read. I stopped making comments awhile ago because I was always self conscious about them, "Does that sound too cheesy? Could it be taken the wrong way? Is it awesome enough?". Yes, I'm that nerdy (haha).
Unfortunately I'm still too self conscious to make comments but you're a great blogger so I'll still keep reading!
There are a couple reasons I decided it was time to part ways:
1. I bought the jacket on a dare
2. It never fit. It was an XL and I usually don't fit into L sized stuff.
3. I hadn't worn it in over 5 years.
In the end, if it did fit even remotely well... i'd have kept it till the end of time.
I have faith that someday I will find the perfect leather jacket with flames on the arms that will fill the void in my wardrobe.
