I am passionate about reducing waste. I feel that the amount of waste our society produces disturbing and unsustainable (not only are we quickly using up Earth's resources that are limited, we are also running out of places to put our massive amounts of trash, which results in environmental pollution). We have been trying to reduce waste in our home as much as possible, but we still have a lot of room for improvement (we fill up about one under-the-sink garbage can in a week).
This short video was very inspirational to me. It shows how doable zero-waste lifestyle is. Making changes is hard for me, but once I get into a solid habit -- it becomes easy and feels good. Next on my list for this spring is getting a red-worm composting bin. Please enjoy the video! or get some great tips here.

Did I say that I LOVE IT?!?!?!?!
Nice to see that the dream of the 90's is alive in Hillsboro too :) Keep doing your thang girlfriend!!
Very inspiring. I can't believe how much garbage they had in 4 months! That is almost unbelievable. I wonder if the people at the store let them weight their glass jars first before they charge them. You know what always gets me? Its the logistics. I think that video could have been an hour long. Thanks for sharing. Being here in Mexico has helped me be better in some ways by buying at markets but bad in other ways. Their recycling isn't as user friendly. And, did you see how clutter free her house was? I LOVED that.
Verenice, I totally know what you mean about the logistics. I bet she gets a lot of weird looks and comments when she asks about alternatives. I too admired her fresh looking, clean house. I guess if you downsize from a 3000sq.ft. house to a 1400 one you have some funds left over to make that small house really awesome. Made me feel better about the fact that we have almost no decorations :)
