Anya turned 8 months yesterday. Time if flying by. Some things for me to remember about this past month:
- You are biting and drooling rivers. All signs have been pointing to bottom canines for the last two months. I see some gum swelling and redness, but alas, still no teeth.
- Maybe it's due to the prolonged "teething", but this has been a hard month for me. You have been so cranky. Crying and whining... people used to not believe me, but finally the people that see you often are beginning to agree.
- You decided that you don't like men. Your smile turns into a huge, dramatic frown when you look at one and you start crying. Yet you can't not keep looking!
- You and Lucas spent the first night away from us this month, so that we could celebrate Zach's birthday by getting a full night of sleep. HUGE thank you to our neighbors/friends (The Wildes) for having you.
- You still wake up about four times each night, sometimes less, but usually more. Last night, for example, we were up 8 times with you. I don't know what's going on.
- We have moved you into your crib in Lucas' room. Well, it's "the kids' room", more accurately. We thought you might like having a roommate and will maybe start sleeping better. nope. didn't have that effect.
- You still don't roll over.
- I don't exactly know how, but you can move. When I sit you down on the floor, within a few minutes I notice that you have moved a foot or two from your original location. I think that you try to reach for things and then kind of scoot your bottom in tiny increments.
- You are pretty vocal and lately stick your tongue way out when you smile.
- Several people have commented on the funny contrast between your tiny, narrow, skinny feet and your chunky rollie legs.
-You love going out to the store, park, driving in the car... anywhere, really. You are much less fussy when you are out with new things to look at.
- So far, you like all the food you've tried: oatmeal, wheat, rice cereal, bananas, mangos, apples, pears, plums, watermelon, broccoli, squash, carrots, sweet potato, green beans (not your favorite), and peas.
- I have started to give you some water to drink out of a cup.
- You love your pacifier, you can put it in your mouth, just not in the middle of the night.
- You love it when your brother pays attention to you.
- You love baths
- You hate having a dirty diaper.
Anya is the sweetest, cutest, little girl when she's happy. Heck, she's pretty adorable when she's sad too. If only I could figure out how to get her to sleep better at night. And poop in the potty... and feed herself... just kidding.
